Is conducted over two (2) days.
Refresher:
Is conducted over one (1) day.
Weekend Course:
Is a Public Forklift refresher course every Saturday starting at 7.30am and runs for one (1) day.

Full Course Information

Course Overview

Forklift Training aims to give participants hands on practical skills and knowledge in the safe and efficient operation of a counter-balance forklift. Participants will gain an understanding of applicable legislations; forklift types and uses; load charts; load types and characteristics; lifting attachment types and uses; be able to plan work and manage risks; pre and post start checks; safe driving techniques; forklift stability; shift and manoeuvre a variety of loads; shutdown procedures and associated paperwork. By completing this training and assessment you will be awarded the High Risk Licence class LF.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to this operator's licence, however. Participants will not be able to apply for the High Risk Work Licence until they are 18 years old.Participants will need a basic level of numeracy as course involves some calculations.

Course Delivery

Forklift (Licence) training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training facility: 72-80 Belgravia St, Belmont, Perth 6104. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Completion Award

Upon successful completion of the Forklift Training (including nominal logbook hours collected on a jobsite) a Statement of Attainment will be issued for application of a HRW Licence

Outcomes

Successful candidates will be eligible to apply to WorkSafe for their (LF) Forklift Licence. This is a High Risk Work Licence

Further training

Forklift Training can be accredited towards the nationally recognised qualification TLI31610 Certificate III in Warehousing, through the process of RPL

Suitable for

Forklift Training is suitable for those who wish to operate a forklift truck within the Resources, Construction, Transport and retail industries.

Licensing Regulations

A photographic licence is issued to people who are assessed as being competent to hold the High Risk Work licence, subject to identification checks and verification of age. You must be at least 18 years of age before you can be issued with an High Risk licence from Worksafe WA. A High Risk licence is issued for a period of five (5) years starting on the date of issue of the first High Risk licence class endorsed on the licence

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer

There is no recognition of prior learning for Forklift Training
