The BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) supersedes the previous Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). This qualification reflects the role of individuals who coordinate and maintain the WHS program within an organisation. Individuals would possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and the work of others with safety responsibilities. The certificate IV is comprised of 5 core units and 5 elective units.
The Certificate IV Work Health and Safety (WHS) has 5 days of face-to-face delivery, over two blocks (2 days, then 3 days) within a three week period. This is to provide flexibility to full-time workers looking to complete their studies.
Additional assignment coursework is to be completed outside of this period, with a maximum project completion period of 12 months.

Completion of the BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety combined with suitable experience provides the opportunity to become a supervisor/manager, or trainee manager in organisations within the area of work health and safety.
After completing training in Work Health and Safety, students will be able to work as a health and safety practitioner, responsible for the organisation of the safety and health functions within a workplace.

There are no prerequisites however, candidates will need to have sound literacy/numeracy skills, as well as sound computer skills. No other requirements are needed to enter in Certificate IV WHS.
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

WHS training and assessment is conducted onsite with Site Skills Training. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
