Course Overview
This course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and competently operate a pendant controlled overhead crane. Participants will be able to undertake risk assessment and control, pre-start inspections, identify lifting equipment, report and record faults, lift and shift various loads safely, and shut down and stow equipment and cranes as per AS2550, manufacturer instructions and site procedures. This course is for electric overhead cranes with 3 or less movements: South/North, East/West, Up/Down

Payment Options
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

Qualification Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued and Students will receive one (1) nationally recognised unit of competency upon successful completion.

Gantry Crane (Overhead Crane) Training requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. Course Delivery
Gantry Crane (Overhead Crane) training and assessment is conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.
For training at clients premises the following resources are required:
- Safe Maintained Electric Overhead Crane
- Comfortable training room for 10 participants
- Workplace PPE/barricades
- Workplace lifting/risk assessment procedures
- Serviceable Slings
- Practice loads
- Suitable practical training area
