High Voltage Awareness training (ID 2066) provides essential knowledge for electrical and non-electrical workers who are required to work on and/or around High Voltage equipment. The course covers, hazards associated with HV, PPE required for working near HV Electrical Equipment, Lock out, tagging and isolation procedures, and first response to a HV incident.
Upon completion students should be able to undertake the following tasks:
- Comply with PPE requirements when working near HV electrical equipment.
- Identify hazards associated with working near or on HV apparatus and apply hazard control measures.
- Comply with lockout, tagging and isolation requirements in accordance with permit procedures.
- Carry out first response in an HV incident.
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

HV Awareness training and assessment is conducted on-site at the Site Skills Training Brisbane. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.
Our Brisbane facility is at 488 Queen St, Brisbane CBD, QLD and training can be delivered on-site/client premises.
There are no formal prerequisites for High Voltage Awareness
Licensing regulations are not applicable.
