Course Overview
Requirements for the HSR - Health and Safety Representative course are set out in the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011. This is a five (5) day Work place Health & Safety course, encompassing the role and powers of Health & Safety Representative's providing them with the necessary skills to meet the requirements of the WHS Act for elected Health and Safety Representatives.
The one day Refresher Training course is an entitlement for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) under the QLD Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation. The course meets the requirements of the WHS Regulations for HSRs elected under the WHS Act. This 1 day course will assist HSRs in understanding the requirements of the WHS Act for Health and Safety Representatives.
Payment Options
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

Qualification Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a statement of attendance.
The refresher course will refresh the information and skills attained under the initial five day training course and assist HSRs to carry out their role and functions under the WHS legislation including:
- An understanding of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation;
- an understanding of how it applies to their role as elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR); and
- the additional knowledge and skills regarding their powers under the WHS legislation to issue Provisional Improvement Notices(PINs) and direct unsafe work to cease.
Refresher Requirements
It is a requirement that the HSR refresher training must be completed once every 12 months.

Course Delivery
HSR - Health and Safety Representative Training and assessment is conducted at Site Skills Training facility 1 Nestor Drive, Meadowbrook, Logan 4131 or at 488 Queen St, Brisbane CBD. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
