Chainsaw Fall Trees (Intermediate) Training

Chainsaw Fall Trees (Intermediate) describes the outcomes required to assess, plan and safely carry out intermediate manual tree falling operations. This course is intended for use in situations where the production of timber is not the primary focus of the activity.

  • Assessing trees falling characteristics and planning fall
  • Identification of structural defects in trees
  • Administering a sequence of cuts in accordance with planning

Chainsaw Operations Training

FWPCOT2237 Maintain chainsaws

This unit describes the outcomes required to carry out maintenance of hand-held chainsaws. It relates to the maintenance and servicing requirements of chainsaw powerheads and cutting attachments; chain sharpening, clean-up, storage procedures and recording requirements. General legislative, regulatory and workplace requirements apply to this unit; however there are no specific licensing or certification requirements at the time of publication.

FWPCOT2239 Trim and cut felled trees

This unit describes the outcomes required to trim and cut felled trees with a chainsaw. It is intended for use in situations where the production of timber is not the primary focus of the activity. The unit also includes equipment maintenance. General workplace legislative and regulatory requirements apply to this unit; specific licensing or certification requirements may apply in some states and territories.

Chainsaw Trim and Cut Trees Training

This course describes the outcomes required to trim and cross cut felled trees with a chainsaw and covers maintenance of equipment and general workplace legislative and regulatory requirements. Students will learn how to trim and cut felled trees with a chainsaw in a variety of work settings. The skills and knowledge required for competent workplace performance are to be used within the scope of the person's job and authority.
