Dogging and Rigging Training Darwin provides students with the fundamental skills of dogging and working around cranes and undertaking up to advanced rigging work.

Basic and Intermediate Rigging Training Package

This training package includes both CPCCLR3001A Licence to perform rigging basic level and CPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate level. Rigging Basic Training will be delivered as the first course as it is a prerequisite to Rigging Intermediate. Courses may not run consecutively.

Rigging Basic Training

This course is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake Basic Rigging work safely and competently. On completion, candidates will be able to undertake steel erection; erect hoists (including mast climbing hoists); place pre-cast concrete; move plant and equipment using a variety of means including skates, chain blocks, tirfors and other means; install safety nets and static lines; install perimeter safety screens and shutters; and, install cantilever crane loading platforms. Candidates will also gain a sound knowledge of applicable legislations and standards and risk management associated with related to Basic Rigging operations.

Rigging Intermediate Training

This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform rigging work at the intermediate level, which includes all the outcomes for rigging work at the basic level, and also includes rigging of cranes, rigging of conveyors, rigging of dredges and excavators, rigging associated with tilt slabs, rigging associated with demolition work, and dual lifts for licensing purposes.

Dogging and Basic Rigging Training Package

This training package includes both CPCCLDG3001A Licence to Perform Dogging and CPCCLRG3001A Licence to Perform Rigging Basic Level. Dogging Training will be delivered as the first course as it is a prerequisite to Basic Rigging Training. Courses may not run consecutively.

Dogging Training

On completion, candidates will be able to competently undertake

  • a range of slinging techniques;
  • select and inspect lifting gear and equipment;
  • direct crane operators in the safe movement and placement of loads including out of view of the crane operator.

  • applicable legislations and standards;
  • risk management procedures relating to lifting operations;
  • crane types,
  • uses and characteristics;
  • crane set up and other elements of crane and dogging operations.

Dogging and Mobile Slewing Crane (C6) Training Package

This training package includes both CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging and TLILIC4009 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes). Courses may not run consecutively.
