Course Overview

This training package includes both CPCCLSF2001A Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding - basic level and CPCCLSF3001A Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding - intermediate level. Basic Scaffolding Training will be delivered as the first course as it is a prerequisite to Intermediate Scaffolding Training. Courses may not run consecutively.

Basic Scaffolding Training

Basic Scaffolding covers the scope of work to plan the job, select and inspect equipment, set up task, erect scaffold and scaffold equipment and dismantle scaffold and scaffold equipment.

Intermediate Scaffolding Training

Intermediate Scaffolding specifies the outcomes required to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding at the Intermediate level which includes use and operation of Cantilevered crane-loading platforms, Cantilevered and spurred scaffolds, Barrow ramps and sloping platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters Mast climbers, and tube and coupler scaffolds (including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries) for licensing purposes

Payment Options

Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500, with the balance to be paid upon commencement of the course.

Basic Scaffolding Training and Intermediate Scaffolding Training requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. To apply for a free USI visit the USI website or contact our facility.

Suitable For

Basic Scaffolding Training

This course is suitable for persons who would like the opportunity to work as a scaffolder undertaking the basic level tasks of: erecting and dismantling prefabricated scaffolds; Cantilevered hoist with a load limit not exceeding 500 kilograms (materials only); Ropes; Gin wheels; Safety nets and static lines; Bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork)

Intermediate Scaffolding Training

Intermediate Scaffolding is recommended to those who have completed basic scaffolding and would like the opportunity to work as an Intermediate Scaffolder within the Construction, Onshore and Offshore Energy, Resources, Government and Defence Industries.

Course Delivery

Training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training Darwin facility at 1 Campion Rd, East Arm, NT 0820. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Prerequisite Information

Although there are no set training prerequisites, NT WorkSafe will only issue a High Risk Work Licence to persons who meet the following criteria:

  • The person successfully completes an approved VET course (for the class of licence being sought) with a Registered Training Organisation
  • The person MUST be a resident of the Northern Territory, or
  • The person MUST provide a letter from their employer that they are a Fly In / Fly Out worker on a Mine Site in the Northern Territory

Failure to meet these criteria will result in the person NOT being issued with a High Risk Work Licence in the Northern Territory.

Licensing Regulation

Applicants are only eligible to apply for a Work Safe NT Licence, once they are 18 years of age and have completed the final assessment. A High Risk Work (HRW) photographic licence is issued for a period of five (5) years starting on the date of issue of the first HRW licence class endorsed on the licence.

RPL

There is no recognition of prior learning for this unit.
