Course Overview

The Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operation) is a nationally accredited training program from the Training Package for Civil Construction. It covers civil operations work undertaken in local government, state road authorities and civil contractors. Depending on the units selected participants may be trained across different areas including the operation of loadshifting equipment and plant, excavation techniques, trenching and confined space work. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a qualification in RII30815 - Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operation).

Eligibility Criteria

This qualification is completely funded by the Northern Territory Training Entitlement (NTTE), please contact the facility to find out more.

Students who wish to enrol into this qualification must meet the following criteria:

  • permanent resident of the Northern Territory (NT)
  • are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a visa without work or study restrictions; or are a New Zealand citizen who has lived in Australia for over six months
  • are at least 18 years old and have left school

Qualification Outcomes

Upon successful completion participants will receive a nationally recognised qualification, including 19 units of competency in a Nationally Recognised Qualification: RII30815 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations

Certificate III Civil Construction Plant Operations requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. Certificate III Civil Construction Plant Operations is suitable plant operators who are currently working in the civil construction and resources industry, or who are seeking to work in the industry. It is also suitable for those working in the civil construction industry who have an interest in plant operation.

Course Delivery

Certificate III Civil Construction Plant Operations can be delivered via a combination of several on and off the job training activities. A training plan will be developed on enrolment to suit the needs of the trainee and employer.

Prerequisite Information

Entry to Certificate III Civil Construction Plant Operations is available to applicants who are already employed in civil construction, maintenance, resources & infrastructure industries, or those who have regular access to a job-site and supervisor where plant operation can be carried out.
