Course Overview

Chainsaw Fall Trees (Intermediate) describes the outcomes required to assess, plan and safely carry out intermediate manual tree falling operations. This course is intended for use in situations where the production of timber is not the primary focus of the activity.

Suitable For

This course is designed for persons who have previous experience in the operation of a chainsaw, who are seeking to learn about felling trees with some difficulty where the following tree characteristics apply: a height not more than 40 metres, lean and weight distribution which can be adapted to falling direction with the use of wedges and or control with hinge wood, single leader, sound wood condition in barrel. At a intermediate level the following conditions will apply: ground slope not more than 15 deg

Course Delivery

Chainsaw Fall Trees training and assessment is conducted on-site at the Site Skills Training Darwin. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.

Prerequisite Information

Nil, however it is recommended that participants complete a basic chainsaw course if they do not have chainsaw operation experience.
