Note a High Risk Work Licence fee of $76 applies above the course cost. This is directly payable to WorkSafe NT.

Course Overview

Intermediate Scaffolding specifies the outcomes required to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding at the Intermediate level which includes use and operation of Cantilevered crane-loading platforms, Cantilevered and spurred scaffolds, Barrow ramps and sloping platforms, perimeter safety screens and shutters Mast climbers, and tube and coupler scaffolds (including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries) for licensing purposes

By completing this training and assessment you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment which is required to apply for the High Risk Work Licence class SI.

Payment Options

Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500, with the balance to be paid upon commencement of the course.

Intermediate Scaffolding Training requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. To apply for a free USI visit the USI website or contact our facility.

Suitable For

Intermediate Scaffolding is recommended to those who have completed basic scaffolding and wish to work within the Construction, Onshore and Offshore Energy, Resources, Government and Defence Industries.

Course Delivery

Training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training facility 1 Campion Rd, East Arm, NT 0820. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Prerequisite Information

Although there are no set training prerequisites, NT WorkSafe will only issue a High Risk Work Licence to persons who meet the following criteria:

  • The person successfully completes an approved VET course (for the class of licence being sought) with a Registered Training Organisation
  • The person MUST be a resident of the Northern Territory, or
  • The person MUST provide a letter from their employer that they are a Fly In / Fly Out worker on a Mine Site in the Northern Territory

Failure to meet these criteria will result in the person NOT being issued with a High Risk Work Licence in the Northern Territory.

Licensing Regulation

Applicants are only eligible to apply for a Work Safe NT Licence, once they are 18 years of age and have completed the final assessment. A High Risk Work (HRW) photographic licence is issued for a period of five (5) years starting on the date of issue of the first HRW licence class endorsed on the licence.

RPL

There is no recognition of prior learning for Intermediate Scaffolding.

Work Opportunities

Persons who have successfully completed this course will be able to work on a job site in the role of an intermediate scaffolder undertaking planning and preparing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, and inspecting, repairing, and altering scaffolding within the scope of a basic scaffolder as per OHS, regulations and legislation.

Further Opportunities

Participants who successfully complete this course may seek to undertake CPCCLSF4001A Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding - advanced level. This course forms part of the Nationally Recognised Qualification CPC30911 Certificate III in Scaffolding
