Log Book Requirements

If any part of the required Performance Evidence cannot be gathered, the Participant will be issued with a Practical Skills Assessment/ Workplace Experience Logbook.

This will need to be completed on site and signed off by their Supervisor. Participants have 12 months to complete this.

On completion, the Participant returns the Logbook to Site Skills training for verification. A statement of Attainment will then be issued and the Full GI Passport will be awarded by ESQ.

Qualification Outcomes

On completion of the theory training, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attendance for the 6 units of competency. Results will also be uploaded to ESQ’s Skills Pass portal where employers can search and verify competencies until you are issued with a GI card from ESQ.

Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments with prior industry experience will receive a Statement of Attainment in completion of the ESQ Standard 11 Generic Induction – Surface Mining Program and a ESQ photographic GI Passport which is valid for 5 years.

Participants who are unable to complete the Practical Skills Assessment/ Workplace Experience Logbook within the 12 months will be required to complete the course again for an additional fee.
