Course Overview
Basic Rigging (RB) is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake Basic Rigging work safely and competently.
On completion, candidates will be able to undertake:
- steel erection;
- erect hoists (including mast climbing hoists);
- place pre-cast concrete;
- move plant and equipment using a variety of means including skates,
- chain blocks,
- tirfors and other means;
- install safety nets and static lines;
- install perimeter safety screens and shutters; and,
- install cantilever crane loading platforms.
Candidates will also gain a sound knowledge of applicable legislation and standards and risk management associated with related to Basic Rigging operations.
If you are competent at the completion of your course you will complete the assessment and be awarded a Statement of attainment. For further information on the High Risk Licencing Process, please click here

Payment Options
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

Suitable For
Basic Rigging Training is recommended for those who have dogging industry experience and intend to work with steel structures and equipment within the Resources and Construction industries; whether from a Sentry or Stand-by position
Course Delivery
Basic Rigging (Licenced) training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training 72-80 Belgravia St, Belmont, Perth 6104. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
Prerequisite Information
Candidates must hold a valid Dogging High Risk Licence or Notice of Assessment
Licensing Regulation
A photographic licence is issued to people who are assessed as being competent to hold the High Risk Work licence (HRW licence), subject to identification checks and verifications of age. You must be at least 18 years of age before you can be issued with an HRW licence from Worksafe WA

Work Opportunities
A rigger who holds a basic rigging licence will able to perform the following duties onsite: movement of plant and equipment, steel erection, particular hoists, placement of pre -cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, mast climbers perimeter safety screens and shutters and cantilevered crane loading platforms. Sites may include civil, resources and mining.
Further Opportunities
Basic Rigging is a prerequisite to enrolment in Intermediate Rigging. CPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic can be credited towards the nationally recognised qualification CPC30711 Certificate III in Rigging.
