Elevating Work Platform (EWP) aims to give participants the appropriate skills and knowledge to operate a mobile boom type elevated work platform (EWP) with a boom length over 11m.
The training and assessment includes practical hands-on skills including:
- planning and risk management;
- applicable legislations and standards;
- EWP types,
- characteristics and uses;
- maintenance and testing of the EWP;
- appropriate PPE;
- correct set up;
- safe and efficient operation techniques;
- shut-down and stowage procedures and associated paperwork.
By completing this training and assessment you will be awarded the High Risk Licence class WP.

Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500, with the balance to be paid upon commencement of the course.

Elevating Work Platform (EWP) Training requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. To apply for a free USI visit the USI website or contact our facility.
EWP Training is suitable for people working in and around elevated work platforms (EWP) for example: Riggers, Electricians; Welders; Fitters; T/A’s and any other role that requires work at height.
Training and assessment is conducted on-site at the Site Skills Training Perth. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.
Our Perth facility is at 72-80 Belgravia St, Belmont, WA and training can be delivered on-site/client premises.
There are no prerequisites to this operator's licence, however. Participants will not be able to apply for the HRW Licence until they are 18 years old. It is recommended that a person attains their working at heights qualification prior to undertaking this course.
A photographic licence is issued to people who are assessed as being competent to hold the High Risk Work licence (HRW licence), subject to identification checks and verifications of age. You must be at least 18 years of age before you can be issued with an HRW licence from Worksafe WA.
There is no recognition of prior learning for this unit
