This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to conduct hydraulic excavator operations in Coal and Metalliferous mining and Extractive.
- planning and preparing;
- conducting machine pre-operational checks;
- operation of an excavator including loading,
- bulk excavation,
- trench excavation,
- battering and benching;
- carrying and placing materials;
- selecting,removing and fitting attachments;
- relocating the machine;
- carrying out machine operator maintenance;
- and cleaning up.

Load shifting (other than Forklift) equipment no longer are required to have a licence however an operator must still be deemed competent. Statement of Attainment received from completing this course is suitable.
Yes - participants may be required to undergo a competency test.

Excavator Operations Training forms part of the qualification RII30813 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operation
