Site Skills Training in conjunction with Graviteq is offering IRATA Rope Access Level 2 Training. This course is a lead technician course and specifies the outcomes required to carry out Rope Access work as an IRATA Level 2 under the IRATA training and certification scheme. Candidates will be trained in all aspects of rope access work including abseiling, traversing, complex rigging and complex vertical rescues.
A level 2 rope access technician shall be capable of rigging working ropes, undertaking rescues and performing rope access tasks (under the supervision of an IRATA level 3 rope access technician). He/she should have some knowledge of legislation, safety requirements and quality assurance procedures relating to rope access.

Log Book Requirements
1,000 hours logbook and 12 months experience of IRATA Rope Access at Level 1.
An Independent Assessor will carry out an assessment on the last day of training. Candidates will be assessed on all aspects stated in IRATA’s Training and Certification Scheme (TACS) for Level 2. Candidates will either pass or fail the course depending on outlined criteria.
Upon a successful assessment, candidates will be issued an internationally recognised IRATA Level 2 certification. Once awarded an IRATA certificate is valid for three (3) years.
IRATA Rope Access Level 2 is compatible with most skilled and non-skilled trades i.e riggers, boilermakers, fitters, NDT, painter/blasters, scaffolders.
Candidates must have 12 months experience and over 1000 hours verified in their logbook as an IRATA Level 1.
A statement of medical condition is required prior to attending training (refer IRATA Form 014R). Should a medical contra-indication be identified a medical clearance certificate is required prior to course attendance
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

IRATA Level 2 training is carried out at our IRATA approved specialised training facilities by Site Skills Training in conjunction with Graviteq. Courses may be extended for an extra day training to ensure the best possible outcome for trainees.
An IRATA issued photographic licence is issued to people who are assessed as being competent. The certification is valid for 3 years from date of assessment. IRATA tickets are recognised world-wide.
There is no recognition of prior learning for IRATA Rope Access Level 2
Units of Competency
IRATA’s international certification does not fall under the AQF scheme
Rope Access Technicians are used across a range of industries including building and construction, civil and resource industries
Once 1000 rope hours have been recorded and a minimum of 12 months experience has been achieved as a Level 2, candidates are eligible to sit an IRATA level 3 Technician Course.
