Engineers learn theory and operators learn from experience, but how do we ensure both theory and experience are combined to full advantage? Our experience of trouble shooting operational problems and training operators leads us to believe that the time is not always taken to familiarise operators with the fundamentals of science, process control and their application to day to day operations.
This course has been prepared to give a practical understanding from the fundamentals of science up to the various LNG processes, combined with modern control systems and the pursuit of optimum performance.
This is an intensive two week course which relies heavily on the use of many computer simulation practical examples to explore engineering fundamentals, control and optimisation.
The course has been delivered numerous times to LNG operating personnel to rave reviews. It would seem operators like to have answers to the many questions they have not understood, and the longer their experience the more questions they have. Believe it or not the duration has never been an issue and compared to the length of a formal education the investment appears to be considered exceptionally worthwhile.
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).
A Payment Plan option is available for this course, please visit the Payment Plans Page for more information.
Payment for this course can be made via eftpos, cash, cheque or the Payment Plan option above. For billing information including who to write a cheque to, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1300 700 080.

Upon Successful completion of Operational Excellence in LNG, participants will receive a Statement of Completion.
As with all our courses we teach fundamentals enabling the delegate to understand the basic principles of operation, not theoretically as in a technical education, but practically from a real world operational point of view.
Most importantly the participants will understand enough physics and chemistry to understand fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and process control. They will also understand how control regulates the performance of a unit operation, and the fundamentals of each unit operation as applied to LNG.
From an understanding of the physics, delegates will understand phenomena such as centrifugal compressor surge, pump cavitation, hogging, thermal stress and the difference between feedback and feedforward control.
This thorough understanding will then equip the delegate to appreciate common operating problems, their causes and their solutions.
Management of Major Emergencies (MOME) Offshore training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training 72-80 Belgravia St, Belmont, Perth 6104. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
