Vehicle Loading Crane specifies the outcomes required to operate a vehicle loading crane with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more, mounted on a vehicle for the principle purpose of loading and unloading such a vehicle, including the application of load estimation and slinging techniques to move a load, for licensing purposes.
Rio Tinto CV Course Overview:
The Rio Tinto CV Course is for all Rio Tinto Clients and is run over a 5 day period as requested by Rio Tinto. The course content is the same however participants will go through Rio Tinto’s JHA & lifting procedures relevant to Vehicle Loading Crane Operation.

Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500, with the balance to be paid upon commencement of the course.

Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. To apply for a free USI visit the USI website or contact our facility.
Training and assessment is conducted at the Site Skills Training facility 72-80 Belgravia St, Belmont, Perth 6104. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.
There are no prerequisites to this licence class, however Site Skills Training recommend the candidate holds a DG (Dogging) High Risk Licence. If the operator is to drive the truck on the road she/he is required to hold a MR/HR drivers licence. Participants will not be able to apply for the HRW Licence until they are 18 years old.
A photographic licence is issued to people who are assessed as being competent to hold the High Risk Work licence (HRW licence), subject to identification checks and verifications of age. You must be at least 18 years of age before you can be issued with an HRW licence from Worksafe WA.
