Traffic Management Training Plan provides the skills and knowledge required to implement a traffic guidance scheme for roadwork ensuring traffic flow is maintained and the safety of the public and workers is maximized.
This unit requires compliance with the:
- Code of Practice: “Traffic Management for construction or maintenance work 2008 QLD”
- Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) – Part 3
- Transport Operations Road Use Management Act and Regulations 1995
- Site specific Traffic Guidance Scheme / Traffic Management Plans
The course structure for persons who have previously completed the course and require a ‘refresher course’ is that they must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Traffic Management Implementation procedures and demonstrate 3 years of on-the-job industry experience prior to completing a 4-hour classroom theory ‘refresher’ course.

The course structure for new industry entrants is 1 day of classroom theory (8 hours) plus three practical set-ups. . Students need to organise the three practical set-ups after completion of the theory component (additional third-party fees may apply). This course must be completed within a maximum period of three months.
Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500. The balance of fees payable will be charged at a point in the course that is proportionate to the amount of the deposit paid, e.g. a 10-day course costing $3,000, the remaining $1,500 will be charged at the end of day 5 (upon completion of 50% of the course).

Participants will receive a statement of attendance following the theoretical component of the course. Upon successful completion of the three (3) traffic management plans participants will be awarded with a statement of attainment and a wallet card.

Traffic Management Training requires a Unique Student Identifier (USI) , you can still complete the training without a USI, though Site Skills Training is unable to provide you with your completion certificate until you provided us with your USI. Traffic Management Training and assessment is conducted on-site at the Site Skills Training Rockhampton. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.
Our Rockhampton facility is at 6 Saleyards Road Gracemere, Rockhampton 4702, and training can be delivered on-site/client premises.
Participants to hold a Qld White Card or industry equivalent requirement.
Participants must be over 18 years of age and will need a basic level of language and literacy as this course requires participant’s to do a theory assessment and receive 100% pass mark.
Both the theory and practical training and assessment must be completed within a 3-month period.
