Note a High Risk Work Licence fee of $85.40 applies above the course cost. This is directly payable to Workplace Health and Safety QLD.

CSQ Funding

Site Skills Training is working with CSQ in providing courses that fall under the Construction Skills Queensland initiative to upskill construction workers in Queensland at a reduced price.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must work or had worked in the building and construction industry in the las 6 months.

Must be an Australia or New Zealand citizen; or permanent resident of Australia; or a refugee and humanitarian visa holder.

And, must permanently reside in Queensland; or be permanently in Queensland.

Course Overview

Vehicle Loading Crane specifies the outcomes required to operate a vehicle loading crane with a capacity of 10 metre tonnes or more, mounted on a vehicle for the principle purpose of loading and unloading such a vehicle, including the application of load estimation and slinging techniques to move a load, for licensing purposes.

Log Book Requirements

In the absence of any evidence of relevant experience, toward informal training a Log book or other training record showing evidence you have undertaken supervised practical training under the direct supervision of a person holding the relevant licence are required in for high risk licence courses.

Log book hours or other training records are completed by the trainee and a qualified site supervisor to ensure skill gaps nominated by the Site Skills Trainer are closed out and verified before the applicant can be proposed for the Mandated Assessments.

Payment Options

Full payment for courses up to $1,500 must be made before the commencement of the course unless the Payment Plan option is selected. For courses that cost over $1,500, Site Skills Training will hold an initial deposit of $1,500, with the balance to be paid upon commencement of the course.

Course Delivery

Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) training and assessment is conducted on-site at the Site Skills Training Landsborough. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable industry training facilities.

Our Sunshine Coast facility is at 219 Forestry Road, Landsborough QLD and training can be delivered on-site/client premises.

Prerequisite Information

There are no prerequisites to Vehicle Loading Crane if the operator is not driving the CV crane truck, however a participant will not be able to apply for the HRW Licence until they are 18 years old. If the operator is driving the CV truck as well as operating it, she/he is required to hold a the appropriate truck licence for the size truck i.e. MR (medium Rigid), HR (Heavy Rigid) licence. Participants will require at least a basic level of numeracy as the course involves calculations

Licensing Regulation

Applicants are only eligible to apply for a Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) Licence, once they are 18 years of age, have completed the final assessment.
