ABOUT THE COURSE

This training package includes the below courses which will be delivered in the below order for prerequisite purposes:

  1. CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging
  2. CPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic level
  3. CPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate level
  4. CPCCLRG4001A Licence to perform rigging advanced level

Please note, these courses may not run consecutively.


Dogging Training

This course aims to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently undertake dogging work in a range of working environments.

On completion, candidates will be able to competently undertake

  • a range of slinging techniques;
  • select and inspect lifting gear and equipment;
  • direct crane operators in the safe movement and placement of loads including out of view of the crane operator.

The course also covers:

  • applicable legislations and standards;
  • risk management procedures relating to lifting operations;
  • crane types,
  • uses and characteristics;
  • crane set up and other elements of crane and dogging operations.


Rigging Basic Training

This course is designed to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake Basic Rigging work safely and competently. On completion, candidates will be able to undertake steel erection; erect hoists (including mast climbing hoists); place pre-cast concrete; move plant and equipment using a variety of means including skates, chain blocks, tirfors and other means; install safety nets and static lines; install perimeter safety screens and shutters; and, install cantilever crane loading platforms. Candidates will also gain a sound knowledge of applicable legislations and standards and risk management associated with related to Basic Rigging operations.


Rigging Intermediate Training

This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform rigging work at the intermediate level, which includes all the outcomes for rigging work at the basic level, and also includes rigging of cranes, rigging of conveyors, rigging of dredges and excavators, rigging associated with tilt slabs, rigging associated with demolition work, and dual lifts for licensing purposes.


Rigging Advanced Training

This course specifies the outcomes required to perform rigging work at the advanced level and includes the rigging of gin poles, shear legs, flying fox and cable ways, guyed derricks and structures and suspended scaffolds and fabricated hung scaffolds for licensing purposes.
