The QLD Cross River Rail currently has 7 active sites employing 1000 construction workers. This year, 11 new sites are to be opened and an additional 1500 workers will be hired.

The new Brisbane sites include the RNA showgrounds exhibition station, stations from Salisbury to Fairfield and the project’s southern tunnel portal south of Boggo Road.

On the Gold Coast, new stations will be built at Pimpama, Helensvale North and Merrimac.

In addition to station construction work, the demolition at Roma and Albert Street is to be completed and tunnelling between Woolloongabba and Boggo Road is set to begin.

In total, the Cross River Rail project is going to create 7700 construction jobs in SEQ. While 2019 was a big year, 2020 is going to be even bigger for the project.

Site Skills Training offers a wide variety of construction related courses from its three SEQ facilities. A full list of our construction courses can be found here.

If you aren’t quite sure which courses would be most beneficial in the current market, give our Brisbane facility a call at 0731779912.
