ABOUT THE COURSE
This Traffic Control Course provides participants with the necessary knowledge, practical skills and understanding to be able to control traffic using a stop-slow bat in accordance with approved procedures set by the Queensland Government. These skills and knowledge will enable them as a traffic controller to plan & prepare their work, coordinate traffic, operate radios and clean up the worksite.
The course structure for new industry entrants is 1 day of classroom theory (8 hours) plus a minimum of 20 hours of practical experience at a roadwork site.
The Traffic Control Course structure for participants who have previously completed the course and require a ‘refresher’ course is attending a 4-hour classroom theory course. There is no requirement to complete vocational placement. Refresher training is required every three years.
