ABOUT THE COURSE
The most common workplace injuries in Australia are sprains and strains caused by the stresses due to manual tasks including lifting and moving materials manually. Most jobs involve some type of force and/or repetition, using the body to move, lift or hold an object, from loading pallets, erecting scaffold to entering data into a computer.
Undertake Manual Handling is designed to give workers and managers the necessary skills and techniques to stop and assess their work activities to reduce the impact on the body. Including redesign/simple alterations; correct lifting techniques; body mechanics and maintenance.
Not suitable for clients completing their certificate in nursing or aged care.
