Seymour Whyte Constructions has been awarded the first contract for the $1 billion Pacific Motorway upgrade between Varsity Lakes and Tugun.
“The Varsity Lake to Tugun upgrade is set to support almost 850 jobs at a time when creating and maintaining jobs has never been more critical”, said Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
“The construction industry plays an essential role in supporting Queensland Jobs.”
Additional lanes are being added to a 10km stretch in both directions, entry and exit lanes are being extended and Gold Coast’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange is going to be constructed at Burleigh. This should help a rather congested part of the highway open up and allow Queenslanders to get home safely and on time.
Work is expected to begin in a few weeks’ time.
To continue supporting the construction industry we are now delivering some of our popular courses online. Students will be able to complete most of the training course online and finish up with a 1-1 assessment at a facility of their choice. Find out more about blended training courses right here!
Though project specific roles are yet to be advertised, Seymour Whyte is accepting expressions of interest from interested parties. Click here to submit yours.
